Old Itunes For Mac

Posted : admin On 26.03.2020

HI Hello, Reinstalling an older version of iTunes on our Mac is not a good idea. Perhaps some easy maintenance suggestions will help.

Try running Disk Utility and Repairing Disk Permissions first. Launch Disk Utility (Applications/Utilities). Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, then click: Repair Disk Permissions.

Quit DU when it's finished and reboot. Try to launch iTunes. If it still won't open. Drag this file from the Preferences folder: com.apple.itunes.plist to your Desktop. Try to launch iTunes.

If iTunes launches successfully, then that.plist file is corrupted. Drag it to the Trash, empty the Trash and reboot.

You will have to reset your iTunes preferences but if deleting this file fixes the problem, then it's worth effort. If you still have problems with iTunes, then perhaps an Archive and Install is in order. Back up all your important data/images/video/documents. When you are finished with the installation, at some point you will be prompted for an iTunes update. If you had good luck with 8.0.1, just don't go any farther with the updates for now. If you need help with an Archive and Install, please post back. Carolyn 🙂.

Mac Itunes Download

Hi there, A couple of years ago I purchased some music on the Itunes store on a PC and backed it up to a remote Hard Disk. A few years and internet provider later (and house moves), with a different email address I imported my music to my new MacBook Pro. When I try to play a few of the tunes that I purchased before on my computer it asks me to authorise them for this new computer. Unfortunately it is asking with the ID of my old Itunes account that no longer exists. If I try to authorise with my new account it says that it has done it but then asks me to authorise again everytime I play. Is there a way of linking my old account to my new? Hi There Old accounts do seem to go away.

I have moved from australia to new zealand and now back to oz and songs purchased when is lived in australia initially belong to account with apple ID 'A' those brought nz have apple ID 'B'. I have brought a new computer and all songs brought via apple ID 'B' work fine and able to authorise. Songs with apple ID 'A' wont because apple ID 'A' doesn't exist anymore according to itunes, despite the fact that when it wants authorisation for those songs it quotes apple ID 'A'. As far as I can see in order to utilise those songs I brought with apple id 'A' i have to use my old computer as that somehow is still authorised to that account. Any other suggestions would be welcome. Apple Footer. This site contains user submitted content, comments and opinions and is for informational purposes only.
