  1. Download Amule
  2. Amule 2.2.6

AMule is a Peer to Peer ( ) application for streaming a variety of different media to your Mac. By now everyone who has ever used a computer surely knows about Peer to Peer file sharing and the controversy it has stirred up since the days when Napster rocked the music industry. Although it's still illegal and you run the risk of being taken to court if you're caught with substantial copyrighted material, there are still plenty of file sharing networks and clients you can use to obtain free music, video and files like. What is special about aMule? Using the eDonkey network, aMule stands out from most of its rival because it is open source. This frees you from pesky spyware and adware, leaving you able to get on with your downloading in peace. In addition, aMule doesn't rely on one central server like many older clients.

Re amule 2.3 2 for mac

By using a multitude of different servers, the network is virtually impossible to shut down and is consequently very secure. AMule is simple to use. This doesn't mean it lacks depth though, and aMule's features are some of the most advanced to be seen in a P2P client. For example, you can view all kinds of information on machines you're downloading from, call up charts outlining downloading stats and check download status through aMule's advanced progress bar. What are the results like? Since aMule uses a large network of servers its search results are pretty vast. There's one major annoyance that can come up with aMule though: it's very slow at downloading files.

This is largely because of the way aMule handles download priority, which looks at the number of servers you're connected to, the connection speed and the size of the file. AMule also relies heavily on a credit scoring system, where people who use the service a lot are rewarded with faster downloads. While some may champion this as being in the true spirit of file sharing, the system makes it frustrating for new users who get penalized with ultra slow downloads. Still, with its simple interface and loads of features, it's not difficult to see why aMule has become a very popular P2P app. By Anonymous Top notch P2P for Mac.

Download Amule

This is the king of P2P for Mac! Even though Razorback has been shut down recently, I still have access to tons of other servrers. I always seem to find something I'm looking for, even if it's some obscure documentary or track. I also like how the interface is designed, it's simple and well organised.

Downloading speed has been pretty decent, I guess it also depends on the popularity of what you're looking for. The only problem I have is that it keeps on freezing when I shut it down, even after I've disconnected from the server. Pros: Access to loads of servers Simple to use interface Good downloading speeds. Cons: Freezes when you try to quit reviewed on March 17, 2006.

Hi there, i spent the last 3 hours trying to make amule work on my nas (qnap ts261+ with Firmware version 4.2.3 Build 20170121): i installed amule 2.3.2 in the app center, pushed the open button, filled with the password and logged in. Here are some questions: 1 what happens when i reboot my nas? Amule will start after reboot or i have to start it myself? If i have to start, how am i supposed to start it? 2 what happens with the settings after reboot?

It looks like they are scratched and reloaded from a standard archive, am i wrong? How am i supposed to change the settings directory location or, at least, modify the files in the given path so i can backup settings and make them survive reboot? 3 while amule was working fine, i tried to launch amulecmd and it replied that there was something wrong with libread.so.6 (libreadline.so.6: cannot open shared object file): how am i supposed to solve this? Isn't it supposed to install all the required libraries? 4 how should i stop, start and restart amule when i feel the need? Thanks to everybody who will help me. I'm feeling stupid and frustrated.

Airone12 wrote:I see, but I don't want to install mldonkey, I want to understand how amule (that is availble in the app center) works aMule for 64bit QTOS 4.3.x is broken. Like you say, runs as admin etc.

I also can not sent emails at events. I you still want to try, you should find the config file amule.conf at /share/CACHEDEV1DATA/.qpkg/aMule/.aMule/ or /root/.aMule/ You can start/stop aMule from app center, click on the V One way to use it from your PC is to install remote version with the installer from and make some changes in the registry and make a BAT file I have now used aMule for two years (used Mldonkey before, but wanted to try something new), but now I am fed up and will go back to Mldonkey. You can find Mldonkey at (and even more at ), info at and a remote control client at (start it one time as admin and in settings tell to associate e2dk and magnets links with sancho) One thing that is better with Mldonkey (besides that i works ) is that it can handle both e2dk and torrents. Hi there, sorry it took me so much but. I simply forgot about this thread. Here is a brief explanation about how i run amuled to avoid all the problems with the qnap app: 1 install amule in qnap app center 2 find where the app center installed amule binary and libraries (e.g /share/MD1DATA/.qpkg/aMule/aMule/bin and /share/MD1DATA/.qpkg/aMule/aMule/lib) and copy all of them in a directory of your choice, outside the paths that are restored at boot by qnap software 3 create a dir.aMule where you will save all your amule configuration 4 try to run amule with command (possibly with a user different from root/admin).
