Im trying to connect my handycam to transfer my movies on the pc but it seems that ubuntu is not picking up my camera. Im running ubuntu 8.10 and trying to connect via USD (dont have firewire n my PC. Incase anyone wants to suggest firewire). I have two questions: 1. How can i make this work in ubuntu?

How can i make it work via wine (i.e. Add usb detection to wine) then i can use the software that came with it, which is windows based.
